Pay End-of-service Benefits To Expats

30 March 2022 Expats

Maryam Al-Aqeel, the President of the Civil Service Commission, cancelled the requirement for expatriate employees to pay the end of service payment when they depart the government sector.

In its circular to government agencies, a local Arabic daily reported the CSC's decision to eliminate the departure notice was based on a ruling by the Constitutional Court which mandated payment of end of service to non-Kuwaiti employees right when their service ended, irrespective of leaving the country or receiving reward payments.

The minister urged the government to pay end-of-service gratuities and take settlement procedures into account in line with the decision of the service council.
