No Plan To Impose Fees On Expats For Corona Vaccine
Ministry of Health endeavours to determine ways of receiving the Pfizer vaccine for Corona, and other vaccines if they arrive late this year or the first quarter of 2021, reports Al-Qabas daily. Informed ministry sources revealed that concerned officials are working to expand the scope of receiving more than one segment in the first stage of the arrival of the Pfizer vaccine, based on the quantity that will reach the country later.
They ruled out imposing fees on expatriates to receive Corona vaccines if they’re made available, according to initial agreements with the companies producing them. They pointed out that “principled” agreements stipulate the import of about one million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, 1.7 million doses of Moderna, and 3 million doses of “Oxford-AstraZeneca” at a rate of two doses per person.
These are vaccines closest to obtaining the approval of international health authorities and organizations before proceeding to distribute them to the countries of the world.
They reaffirmed importing about 5.7 million doses of the Corona vaccines if approved globally, noting the quantity will be sufficient for about 2.8 million people, especially as most vaccines are not recommended to be given to those below 18 years old and children in general during the current period.
