No Normalization Of Ties With Israel

The security forces ended a sit-in by Kuwaiti environmentalists last Thursday in front of the headquarters of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society.

The demonstrators were protesting the Israeli flag seen behind the Kuwaiti delegation attending an environmental conference in Switzerland, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Security forces intervened to end the sit-in after about 30 minutes. Environmental activist Khaled Al-Hassan told Al-Qabas on the sidelines of the sit-in said the aim of the demonstration was to highlight the society’s position which rejects any attempt to normalize ties with the Zionist entity, since the picture (of the Israeli flag behind the Kuwaiti delegation) raises many questions about the marketing of the Israeli flag as a kind of propaganda to enter normalization process through public benefit associations.

He called on the Foreign Ministry to issue a circular to government bodies and delegations abroad to be aware of the traps set by the Zionist entity against Kuwait.

For his part, Chairman of the Liberal Popular Movement Abdul Aziz Al-Shaaban has the movement rejects any kind of normalization at any level.
