Newspaper Sector Not Adhering To National Employment Ratios

Private sector organizations are required to adhere to the national employment ratios regulated by the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) according to economic activity and main occupation, especially in post of clerks, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The decision on the ratio of private sector workers divides Kuwaitis into five main categories distributed over 30 types of economic and professional activities.

Private sector ratio for recruiting the national manpower as managers, clerks and executives stands between 20% and 60% depending on the sector.

The change in number of clerks approved is between 3% and 8% while hotel companies are required to assign 20% of Kuwaiti jobs to clerks and executives, and the same percentage rose to 8 in tourism and 20% in travel sector.

The rate of appointing managers in the storage sector was increased to 40% from the previous 35%, in addition to an increase of 3% in the lighting, electricity and gas sector, rising to 24% instead of 21% previously.
