New Terms For Renewing Driving License

The Ministry of the Interior sets the terms and conditions for renewing driving licenses for citizens and expatriates. The Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali issued a decision amending some provisions of Resolution 1976/81 in the Executive Regulations of the Traffic Law.

According to the amendment, the application to renew driving licenses shall be submitted on the prescribed form within 30 days before its expiry or any other period determined by the General Traffic Department as required by the public interest. A proof of identity, Proof of place of residence, a certificate of payment of all traffic fines shall be attached along with the application.

Non-Kuwaitis must submit the proof of residency also with the form and renewal takes place after paying the prescribed fees.
