New Strategy To Control Traffic Jam Problem

01 February 2016 Kuwait

Public Authority for Roads and Transportation is now working on a new strategy to lessen traffic jams by boosting the public transportation system and reducing the number of private cars, reports Al-Nahar daily, quoting authority head Abdul Latif Al-Dakheel.

According to report, Al-Dakheel unveiled a plan to enact new laws in line with the new strategy. He said an alternative proposal has been presented to increase the fees for issuance of driving licenses and car registration books, affirming a study in this regard is ongoing.

He explained the functions of the authority include supervising the movement of taxis and buses, as well as determining new routes to ensure these modes of public transportation reach more distant places rather than concentrating on densely populated areas.
