New Multi-million Dinar Upgrades At Jazeera Terminal 5

A recent upgrade was made to Jazeera Terminal 5 (T5) at Kuwait International Airport by Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's leading low-cost carrier. In keeping with the airline's commitment to enhancing the passenger experience, both operational and infrastructure improvements are being made.

According to Rohit Ramachandran, Chief Executive Officer, Jazeera Airways: We serve close to 4 million passengers a year at Jazeera Airways Terminal 5 and aim to provide a smooth passenger experience. This starts from the time passengers park their vehicles or enter the Terminal till they board their flights. To ensure this, we have invested millions of Kuwaiti dinars to implement a number of new enhancements and upgrades at the Terminal."

Upgrades to infrastructure and operations

Jazeera Terminal 5 has made many improvements aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and comfort. Among them are:

1. Faster Check-in: Check-in has been made faster with extra check-in desks, as well as new, improved self-check-in kiosks that will be coming soon. Early Check-in at Jazeera Park and Fly allows passengers to get their boarding passes up to 36 hours before departure.

2. One Security Check: The terminal has only one centralized security check prior to departure. This helps passengers reduce the stress of having to go through additional security checks at the boarding gate.

3. Additional Boarding Gates: Three additional boarding gates with seating areas have been introduced to help accommodate more passengers.

4. Changing Rooms: New changing rooms have been built to benefit Umrah travelers.

5. Food and Beverage Outlets: Expanded food and beverage outlets both landside and airside including Costa Coffee, Pizza Hut, Subway, D’light, and Burger King, offer passengers a wider option for meals or drinks.

6. Duty Free Shops: The Duty Free shops in two locations offer a large variety of airport exclusives in perfumes, food and gifts.

Further, Ramachandran explained, "By managing the Terminal, we control the passenger journey through the airport.". Our goal is to reduce the amount of time required between entering the terminal and reaching the boarding gate to 20 minutes, which will enable passengers to board their flights more quickly. We also have a Customer Service Team operating throughout the terminal to assist passengers all the way. All these new improvements will ensure a pleasant airport experience along with affordable fares."

Spaces for retail

Different Kuwaiti businesses can rent prime retail spaces at Jazeera Terminal 5. These include food and beverage outlets, money exchanges, electronics, and general stores.

Other than catering to travelers in need of last-minute essentials, the airport is Kuwait's only 24-hour retail outlet.

Providers of additional services

A shaded walkway connects Jazeera Terminal 5 to a 350-vehicle parking building across the street. Passengers can easily walk across or transfer luggage, especially during the summer months. In addition to valet parking, airport limousines, porters, bag wrapping, and meet and assist services, passengers can also take advantage of valet parking services.

The company also provides several other services that are useful not only for passengers, but also for others who are seeking 24/7 convenience. The services include ticket booking, money exchange, food and beverage outlets, and payment of utility bills and fines. As of recently, the Terminal is also helping with the clearance process for newly arrived domestic workers (Article 20).

The Pearl Lounge offers a designated smoking room along with the rest of the Terminal's airside facilities.
