14 May 2018 Kuwait

Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Affairs at Ministry of Education Fatima Al-Kandari affirmed that the new decisions aim at combating illusory education and protecting hard working students, reports Al-Qabas daily.

She said combating malpractice is part of the fight against corruption, stressing that the ministry is preparing for the final exams by spreading awareness among the students about the culture of examinations and the organized bylaws. Al-Kandari denied the exaggerated figures concerning deprivation of students because of malpractice, affirming that the percentage of deprivation is few compared to the number of testers for grades 10 and 11.

Meanwhile, high-level sources revealed that Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Hamid Al-Azmi met with Al-Kandari, directors of six educational zones and director of Religious Studies Institute to discuss the recent sit-in conducted by students. During the meeting, the minister stressed the need to avoid abusing students and giving students enough chance to perform the test.
