New Contracts To Beautify Kuwait - Paaf

02 March 2016 Kuwait

The Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAF) announced Tuesday that it had signed a series of eight contracts, consisting of agricultural beautification projects encompassing the entire country.

Deputy Director General of Agricultural Beautification Affairs Faisal Al-Saddiqi said these contracts aim to give public places, including gardens, parks, roads and highways a much needed facelift.  The projects will rely more on modern, agricultural machinery as opposed to manual labor,

Al-Saddiqi noted, pointing to rising temperatures and the country's barren landscape as impediments to the growth of plants. Moreover,

Al-Saddiqi also pointed out that the number of public gardens in the country has increased from 144 gardens to 183, with a total space of 3.65 million square meters. The goal is to further increase the number of gardens to 196, with a total space of 3.9 million square meters, he added.

The use of solar energy also proved fruitful to protecting the environment and facilitating the completion of various agricultural projects, Al-Saddiqi said.
He also revealed PAAF plans of renovating numerous parks and gardens in the country, calling on the public to avoid vandalizing these properties, saying such actions only hamper the progress of the projects.
