The Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a new case of forgery involving a Kuwaiti who entered into a deal 11 years ago with a Saudi to add him to his nationality file in return for 30,000 dinars, reports Al-Rai daily.

Although he became a Kuwaiti by virtue of the forgery, the paradox is that the Saudi documents show the Saudi is 39 years old and the Kuwaiti documents show he is 26.

The daily said personnel from the Directorate-General of Investigation of Nationality (the Department of Research and Follow-Up) discovered that the 57-year-old citizen identified only as M.A., in agreement with a Saudi named M.Z., (39 years) added him to his nationality file and received 30,000 dinars and under the deal the Kuwaiti gave false statements to the authorities and got the nationality card and a civil ID for the Saudi showing his date of birth as 1993.

The Kuwaiti has been arrested upon instructions from the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Issam Al-Nham. The Saudi has been referred to the Criminal Evidences Department for the DNA analysis.
