The Jahra Municipality monitoring teams organized a field tour in the area to remove election advertisements which were erected randomly by the candidates contesting in the 2020 National Assembly elections in clear violation of the Municipality laws.
The activity included cleaning six polling centers in the governorate and distributing a number of water tankers to help carry out the cleaning process as well as the distribution of about 450 garbage containers. The head of the team for removing violations in the Jahra Municipality branch, Sulaiman Al-Ghais, said in a press statement yesterday, the committee toured the polling centers in compliance with health and general hygiene requirements and to ensure the sites are prepared to receive the voters in terms of external and interior cleanliness by the Municipality workers. He pointed the Municipality coordinates with the Ministry of Interior in its work.

He indicated the monitoring teams supervised the cleaning the process of the polling stations from inside, and sterilized and disinfecting them, as well as removed advertisements from the streets and homes that did not comply with the regulations after the owners of these hoardings were issued three warnings at varied intervals.
The Municipality added, if a hoarding is placed in violation of the laws it carries a fine. A fine of between 1,000 and 3,000 for the hoarding placed at the home, while the fine for street violations is 400 dinars. For his part, Hygiene Monitor Dahham Al-Enezi said the tour included 6 schools in the Al-Jahra governorate to see their preparedness for the elections in from the hygiene angle. He added, “We are fully prepared to remove all violations, and the cleaning department in general will provide containers near all schools and electoral headquarters that will be cleaned before and after the elections in addition to lifting what he called ‘abandoned cars’.
