Officials from the Food and Market Inspectorate at the Municipality Services Evaluation and Follow-up Sector affiliated to Capital Municipality recently raided a foodstuff warehouse in Shuwaikh Industrial Area wherein they confiscated and destroyed 17 tons of spoilt food and issued several citations, reports Al- Seyassah daily.
In a related report, Emergency Team affiliated to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality embarked on a field campaign in Subhan Industrial Area leading to confiscation and destruction of 6 tons of spoilt food inside a factory. They also issued several citations during the operation.
In addition, Head of Hawally Emergency Team Riyadh Al-Rabea announced that Hawally Municipality accomplished a series of achievements last year. He explained that the accomplishments included destruction of 23 tons of expired food items that were not fit for human consumption, issuance of 1,574 various violations and demolition of 3,832 illegal structures. The team also closed down 43 shops.
