Mubarak Hospital Set To Open 8 Physiotherapy, Psychiatry Clinics
Director of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, Dr. Mahdi Al-Fadhli, announced the hospital next week will open 8 physiotherapy and psychiatry clinics in the hospital next week. Al-Fadhli told Al-Seyassah daily, that the prospective clinics include nursing rooms and auxiliary medical services attachments, pointing out that the work on these clinics was going on for some time and final touches are being given in preparation for their opening next week.
Al-Fadhli also pointed out the hospital continues to develop its services and referred to the opening of the three-storey car park about ten days ago, which can accommodate 1,000 cars, indicating at the same time the renovation of the ‘Emergency’ entrance and the renovation of several sections of the hospital as part of the hospital’s development plan. With regard to the epidemiological situation in the hospital, Al-Fadhli said there is a significant decline in Kuwait, describing it as ‘excellent’, saying the number of infections has decreased by up to 80 percent, as the coronavirus wings are limited to three wards, one for men, the second for women and the third for intensive care.
Al-Fadhli praised the efforts of the Ministry of Health to encourage vaccination against “COVID-19”, and added last week he was given a certificate after receiving the second dose. Meanwhile, informed health sources confirmed that a slight increase in (COVID- 19) infections was recorded by the Jahra Hospital, as the occupancy rate in the Corona ward increased between 10 to 20 percent maximum — ranging between 12 to 15 cases per week. In a statement to Al-Seyassah, the sources explained that the epidemiological situation in Kuwait in general and Al-Jahra Hospital in particular is very stable, as the number of infections has decreased remarkably in the past few months.
Admissions
However, this week, a slight increase in the rates of admissions was observed compared to the previous weeks. The average is 8 to 15 cases per week. The sources noted that the number of cases decreased at the Jahra Hospital.
On the other hand, the sources revealed that the Ministry of Health plans to completely transfer the outpatient clinics from the old Jahra Hospital to the new hospital during the next few months, after studying the current situation and preparing a comprehensive plan to work in these clinics in a way that suits the number of available medical and technical personnel. In other news, Cancer Awareness Nation (CAN) Board Chairman Dr. Khaled Al-Saleh affirmed Sunday vitality of raising awareness of early detection of cancer in the head, neck and thyroid via tests to reduce these serious ailments. Al-Saleh said in a press statement launch of CAN’s current cancer awareness campaign for head, neck and thyroid that continues throughout this month aims to highlight importance of early detection and achieve high cure rates via Early Detection and COVID- 19 Challenge Campaign. He added that in order to spread awareness, CAN is carrying out the campaign to relay correct information in a simple and scientific ways, with focus on knowing risk factors for developing such cancers and identifying initial symptoms.
