Mpw Is Constructing Giant Maternity Hospital

The Ministry of Public Works (MPW) is constructing one of the giant construction projects in the Al Sabah Medical Area, the new maternity hospital, reports Al- Jarida daily.

The project is built on a large area with the latest construction techniques, to meet the needs of citizens which will consist of a large number of beds and medical services for delivery and mother care services, and children’s ward.

This is in addition to the many specialties offered by the hospital using the latest medical equipment used all over the world. The ministry seeks to deliver the giant project on time, in order to take advantage that it is designed, constructed and furnished in full, to serve as a model for the most modern hospitals specialized in the field of maternity in the region. When the daily inspected the buildings of the project, it was still in the early stages.

The daily quoting the Director of the project, Eng Mishal Al- Anzi said the establishment of the new hospital comes in response to the needs of the citizens and will have a capacity of 780 beds. It will also have 60 delivery rooms, 28 operation theaters and will consist of 240 units.

Al-Anzi said the Public Works Ministry is coordinating with the Ministry of Health to install the latest state of the art units in all sections of the hospital, stressing that there is keenness on both sides to include the latest international devices in the field of childbirth. He pointed out that the hospital contains a dining room, a theater that accommodates 200 people.
