Mp Safa Al-hashem Unsatisfied Over Response Of Bodies Concerning Employment

01 July 2018 Kuwait

Rapporteur of Parliament’s committee for Replacement and Employment Crisis MP Safa Al-Hashem expressed her dissatisfaction over the responses of bodies concerned with employment, reports Al-Rai daily.
She explained that ministers responsible for the increase in the number of expatriate employees and “consultants who control the Civil Service Commission” will be questioned. One of the reasons behind the aggravation of this issue is the presence of about 30,000 expatriate teachers of a single nationality.

Their level of English is very poor, which is evident from the low level of high school graduates. Al-Hashem lamented that the concerned bodies do not take any steps and are just content with issuing reports that do not reflect the truth, as these reports are prepared by expatriate consultants who alter the facts in favor of their compatriots.

She stressed that the government is not serious about implementing the Kuwaitization policy, as 9,000 jobs are being offered to expatriates while Kuwaitis remain unemployed without receiving any job offers.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Interior has been working vigorously toward issuance of the electronic passports without further delay, and instituted all possible measures to ease the process for citizens who wish to obtain new passports or renew old ones, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily quoting a reliable source disclosed that electronic passport issuance centers affiliated to the General Department for Citizenship, Passports and Travel Documents had already produced 900,000 books as at last Thursday.

He added the quantity produced is enough to serve the needs of many Kuwaitis. He stressed that the centers are ready to deliver 6,000 readymade passports to their owners on a daily basis, and that 35,000 passports are ready for collection. He urged the owners to visit the centers and collect their passports without delay, because they are occupying appreciable spaces in the stores.

In an unprecedented move, Public Authority for Sports (PAS) issued an official circular in which it banned disclosure of any information, document or photographs concerning the authority in any media particularly social media without the written approval of the minister or anyone acting on his behalf, reports Al-Anba daily. The circular affirmed that the ban also applies to former employees of the authority.

The authority has also banned all employees from retaining original copies of official documents or photographs in the form of paper, tape or film. The circular stressed that those who violate the circular will be held legally accountable. Ministry of Education has approved the promotion of six employees to the position of Director of Educational Affairs in all six governorates following their approval from the Civil Service Commission, reports Aljarida daily.

These six employees include Shareekah Al-Saeedi, who will be Director of Educational Affairs in Capital Governorate, Dalal Al-Nahidh in Hawally Governorate, Hamad Al-Saeedi in Ahmadi Governorate, Nada Al-Mutairi in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, Fahad Al-Ajmi in Jahra Governorate, and Hamoud Al-Enezi in Farwaniya Governorate.
