Mp Queries Measures On ‘wanted’ Al-rajaan
MP Mehalhal Al-Mudaf forwarded queries to Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Ali Al-Sabah about the decision to lift the travel ban imposed on former Director General of the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) Fahd Al-Rajaan. He requested for a copy of the decision. The lawmaker wants to know the measures taken against those behind the decision, legal basis for taking such a decision, and steps that will be taken for Al- Rajaan to return to the country in order to stand trial and to recover the money he stole.
MP Hesham Al-Saleh has submitted a bill on transferring the Criminal Investigations General Department and Forensic Medicine General Department from the Ministry of Interior to the Ministry of Justice. Article Two of the bill gives the minister of justice the right to supervise and monitor the Public Prosecution, Criminal Investigations General Department and Forensic Medicine General Department.
It stipulates that these two general departments are under the public prosecutor who exercises the authorities granted to him according to Law No. 23/1990. Employees in these general departments, including doctors, technicians and administrative staff will occupy similar posts at the Ministry of Justice while their respective seniority levels will be retained. Al-Saleh explained that the bill is aimed at ensuring justice for all.
He pointed out that since the supporting institutions involved in work related to justice, they have to be affiliated to the Ministry of Justice. MPs Abdullah Al-Turaiji, Mubarak Al-Arow, Ahmed Al- Hamad, Saif Al-Harshani and Salman Al-Azmi submitted a bill on granting two years full time vacation to civil and military athlete workers for them to engage in sports in the country or abroad. The bill stipulates amending Sports Law No. 87/2017, particularly replacing Article 17 with the following paragraph: “The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Sports (PAS) has the right to grant maximum two years vacation to athletes working in public institutions, military institutions and companies in which the State owns more than 50 percent of the capital; in addition to those in military conscription, as per the request of the concerned sports club.”
Also, a new article will be added on granting the employees who meet the conditions stipulated in this law; including athletes, doctors, technicians, administrative staff and natural therapy practitioners, the right to request to be delegated or seconded to PAS without any effect on their allowances and privileges. In another development, MP Hamad Al-Matar posted a picture of him accompanying former MPs Salem Al-Namlan, Mubarak Al- Waalan and Mubarak Al- Herbesh on their flight back home from Turkey. These three former MPs are among the beneficiaries of the Amiri amnesty granted to some of those convicted in the National Assembly building storming and Abdally Cell cases.
