Chairman of the parliamentary Replacement and Employment Committee MP Khalil Al-Saleh has warned against the non-application of the Kuwaitization policy in ministries and other government bodies, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a press statement, Al-Saleh urged the ministers not to depend on expatriate consultants in laying down employment strategies which are not in favor of the Kuwaitization policy in the governmental sector.

He called on the government to cooperate with the committee in closing this file and to stop the appointment of expatriates in the governmental sector.

He said any minister who does not implement the policy or appoints expatriates under special contracts should get ready for interpellation, stressing that Kuwaitis’ jobs are considered a red line and nonnegotiable. He also announced his plan to submit a proposal on granting petrol at a lower price to students in Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) like their counterparts in developed countries such as Britain. He said this is one way of supporting the students.
