Mp Demands Resignation Of Mpw Minster Due To Negligence In Hasawi
Citing continuous negligence of areas in Hassawi, MP Mohammed Hayef has called for the resignation of Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs.
He called the level of negligence ‘unprecedented’ and said the situation has gone from bad to worse during the tenure of two different ministries, something which does not and should not happen in the richest countries of the world. Describing the situation as an ‘embarrassment’ to the nation, the parliamentarian called on the concerned minister to resign if she is unable to hold responsible those in charge of repairing the infrastructural damage.
For one, he cited the severe drainage malfunction which can be classified as an environmental catastrophe.
On another hand, Rapporteur of the Financial Affairs Committee of the National Assembly MP Saleh Ashour disclosed that the committee has looked into 127 legislative proposals which have been submitted by both the MPs and the government and has prioritized them for discussion during the next legislative round.
The priorities include the Northern financial district, the protection of commercial competition, the bankruptcy bill, the strategic replacement, the cancellation of loans and the bill regulating the financial grants to other countries.
The MP noted some of the priorities have been, what he calls, ‘pushed down’ in accordance with their current progress. He said, some of these priorities require revision and information. For example, regulating the work of pharmacies require cooperation from the Ministry of Social Affairs, particularly those pharmacies which operate inside the cooperative societies. MP Faisal Al-Kandari has called on the government to enforce the employment of Kuwaitis in the private sector, particularly in management positions saying he believes this will dramatically contribute to solving the unemployment issue.
Meanwhile, MP Riyadh Al-Adsani asserted it is the right of every citizen to contribute to the legislative work – service which is currently provided on Kuwait National Assembly website. He added, those MPs who consider this service as interference in parliamentary work reflects their personal opinion on the issue.
