Mp Adsani Demands Resignation Of Al-kharafi Over Employment Issue
As days get closer to the inauguration of the next legislative term, some MPs seem to be taking a more offensive stance against the government by applying political pressure to address issues and announcing interpellation plans or demanding for resignations. Talking about the ‘parachute’ employment issue, MP Riyadh Al-Adsani aggressively stated that this phenomenon spread recently and it has reached the level of absurdity.
Addressing State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Adel Al-Kharafiwho was grilled over the same issue in the past, the MP said: “You cannot hire high ranking officials from outside just because they glorify the Speaker of Parliament or HH the Prime Minister.” Since nothing has been done to solve the issue, Al-Adsani demanded for the immediate resignation of the minister.
On the other hand, MP Adel Al-Damkhi disclosed he is confused about the issue as he cannot fathom how it continues to happen despite interpellations and political pressure from members of the Parliament. He asserted that at this point “the country is on the path of fighting against competent Kuwaiti manpower and those who seek to rid the government of corruption.” The MP affirmed the employment of undersecretaries and assistant undersecretaries at the State Ministry for National Assembly Affairs or any other ministry is being monitored by the Assembly.
He pointed out there are multiple reports on ‘parachute’ employments which subsequently harm, if not kill, the ambitions of Kuwaiti manpower in these ministries. “It is as if ministries have no competent young Kuwaiti manpower,” said the MP while highlighting the fact that the same management actively fights against employees who seek reform in their positions.
Ministry of Health has formed two investigation committees to unravel the circumstances that led to the constant shortage of store consumables in hospitals and health centers, as well as the booking of hotels for accommodating doctors without the approval of Ministry of Finance, reports Al-Anba daily. According to informed sources, the first committee will look into the consistent shortage of publications, stationery, sterilization liquids, incinerators, bed sheets and other consumables in hospitals and specialized centers, which has in turn resulted in disruption of integrated services provided to patients. The second committee will investigate the hotel bookings for doctors who were temporarily appointed without consulting Ministry of Finance for approval. The sources said the ministry will take all legal measures against those proven to have misused public funds.
