More Than 88,000 Passengers Traveled Though Kuwait Airport In August
A full month since the start of commercial flights operating through Kuwait Airport, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) released statistics that show about 88,792 passengers both departures and arrivals traveled on 1152 flights during the month of August, Al Qabas said.
India topped the destinations with about 22,876 passengers on 141 flights, followed by Turkey, the Emirates and Doha, during the period from 1 to 28 last August. The total departures reached 65,368 passengers on board 582 flights, while the number of arrivals totaled about 23,424 passengers on 570 flights.
The number of departures to Turkey, which was the second most travel to destination, especially by citizens, reached 18,752 passengers on board 136 flights, while 8,251 passengers arrived to Kuwait on board 135 flights. 9144 passengers left for the UAE on board 128 flights, of which 6297 passengers arrived onboard 127 flights. 3905 passengers came from Doha through 76 flights, and 5360 passengers departed on board 76 flights.
DGCA has ensured the highest standards of health precautions are followed to avoid coronavirus infections, according to a responsible source, that guarantee the safety of travelers and workers.
It clarified that the health procedures required for departures and arrivals are adhered to, especially with the introduction of work teams, who are working around the clock to examine travelers and facilitate their travel procedures starting from the airport gates all the way to the gate of the plane.
