10 July 2021 Kuwait

Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Tourism and Travel Offices and the head of the media committee of the Federation, Hussein Al-Sulaiten, revealed that there is an increasing demand for travel through Kuwait Airport on a weekly basis, especially with the blessed Eid Al-Adha holiday, which will be a big one this year extending for 9 days, where many citizens find it. Residents have an opportunity to travel in light of their inability to travel for long periods in the past due to the spread of the Corona virus pandemic, and the number of travelers during the upcoming Al-Adha holiday is expected to reach more than 100,000 travelers from Kuwait.

Al-Sulaiten added, in an exclusive statement to Al-Anbaa, that the destinations that have a large turnout of citizens during this year’s Eid Al-Adha holiday are still the same, as Turkey is still at the forefront of the scene and witnessing the highest turnout by citizens, in addition to other destinations such as the Maldives, Georgia, Bosnia and Azerbaijan. .

He pointed out that at the present time, London is witnessing a great demand by citizens, for many reasons, the most important of which is the ease of obtaining a travel visa compared to other European countries, which require booking an appointment to obtain a visa, as the British Embassy allows obtaining a visa through its website.

Al-Sulaiten explained that the heavy demand for London witnessed a quick response by Kuwait Airways by increasing the number of flights to London from one flight per week to 3 departing flights to Heathrow Airport in London, in addition to the availability of a flight via Jazeera Airways and a flight via British Airways. In order to achieve some balance between supply and demand in light of the significantly high demand for travel to London by citizens.

He pointed out that increasing the number of passengers through Kuwait Airport to 5000 thousand passengers per day, in addition to increasing the number of flights, will contribute to the recovery of movement at Kuwait International Airport and significantly reduce ticket prices, which will revive the tourism and travel market in Kuwait and benefit everyone.
