Monitoring Of Violations At A New Maternity Hospital
According to Al-Jarida daily, the National Center for Occupational Health and Safety in the Public Authority for Manpower monitored a number of violations at the new maternity hospital in the Al-Sabah Medical District. Noon Work Team head Hamad Al-Makhial told KUNA that the team conducted an inspection tour of the hospital on Wednesday to ensure that business owners applied the decision to ban workers at noon to protect their health and safety. In order to register a violation, the team begins by giving the worker a citation to "honor the law that prohibits working under direct sunlight from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm" and handing it to the employer.
According to him, Kuwait, which is a signatory to human rights conventions, has collaborated with the team to avoid allowing workers to work in the open during the mentioned period.
Since the first of last June, the team has been able to visit 330 sites, detecting 290 violations by companies. The Administrative Decision No. 535 of 2015 prohibits the employment of workers in open workplaces from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from the first of June until the end of August due to high temperatures.
Al-Rai daily reports that the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy intends to establish a center for auditing electricity and water bills before they are issued to avoid manipulation of payments. All sectors of the ministry will be audited, especially the investment and commercial sectors, according to sources. Ali Al-Mousa is keen on ensuring that invoices are accurate, according to sources. Meanwhile, the 'hidden' team in the ministry has uncovered several irregularities in employee performance, confirming that the appropriate departments have been notified to take the necessary action. Additionally, the team monitors the quality of service provided by the ministry and measures it in a scientific and accurate manner, as well as assists the employees in improving their performance.
