Moi Stops Paying Salaries Of 207 Employees For Not Marking Attendance

24 November 2021 Kuwait

The Ministry of Information has stopped paying the salaries of 207 employees for not complying with the fingerprint system. This decision comes in implementation of the instructions issued by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The sources told Al-Jarida a lot of ‘chaos’ and the lack of commitment by some employees to the fingerprint attendance system has been noticed in various sectors of the ministry and the decision to stop salaries has been taken in coordination with the CSC especially that there is a link between the two sides in this regard, pointing out that taking this step was consistent with recommendations of regulatory authorities that stress the need for employees to adhere to the fingerprint system at their workplaces.

The sources added that there are a large number of employees who believe that the fingerprint is not linked with the CSC and therefore they continue to take advantage, during which the percentage of their commitment to the fingerprint varied, stressing that the ministry does not seek to oppress any of its employees, but at the same time the concerned authorities cannot or does not overlook the abuses committed by some.
