In a press statement, the department affirmed that a comprehensive security plan is in place to ensure the safety of citizens and expatriates. The concerned sectors also confirmed completion of tasks according to the plan to control security and traffic on main roads and public areas through heavy security presence throughout the country.
Necessary arrangements were made to maintain security and to guarantee smooth flow of traffic in all governorates, as well as to ensure that everyone observes public etiquette. Security patrols are dispatched to the coastal areas and islands for the protection and safety of visitors, while instructions were given to those assigned at the checkpoints to exert tremendous efforts and carry out their tasks quickly to better serve the public.
The environment police will strictly apply environment protection regulations, in addition to the unit tasked to handle complaints.
The department appealed to citizens and expatriates to follow local customs, traditions and public etiquette, and to cooperate with securitymen by following their instructions in order to help them perform their duties well.
