Moi Revealed 5,296 Forgery Cases Filed In Past 5 Years

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has revealed 5,296 cases of forgery that were filed by all government agencies during the past five years, and said all these cases were referred to the competent investigation bodies, reports Al- Jarida daily

In response to a letter from MP Riyad Al- Adasani, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, the Ministry said it took precautionary measures through coordination with government agencies and institutions to develop plans and mechanisms through awareness campaigns involving citizens and expatriates about these crimes, and how to avoid being victims of these crimes.

While 11 government agencies in their reply to Al- Adasani’s letter indicated that there were no forgery cases, 16 other parties detailed the forgery cases happened over the past five years which numbered 376, most of which are being investigated. The Ministry of Higher Education reported that it had 111 cases of forgery of educational certificates during the above mentioned years.

Currently, the Ministry of Electricity and Water reported 34 cases of forgery in attendance, in annual and sick leaves, others include suspicion of death, study or disability certificates.

The Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fisheries Resources said it has detected four cases of this type, one of which involves falsifying a letter issued to the Ministry of Social Affairs in favor of the owner of a company to authorize it to bring 100 workers, and is still under investigation, while the response of the Ministry of Health, on the falsification of the health fitness certificates have reached 38.

The Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities reported that it has submitted 44 of the 89 existing cases related to forgery of disability certificates and misappropriation of public funds, indicating that the investigation was carried out in 37 while the rest are being investigated.

The CBK’s response shows, the most prominent issues the bank had in mind were the takeover by some of the citizens of some mortgage payments without meeting the conditions, by falsifying the documents and after receiving about 40,000 dinars, proved to be still a vacant land.

As for the Public Authority for Manpower, its 66 cases ranged from rigging the estimated labor needs, falsifying wage certificates, forging some certificates of licenses and work permits, forging educational qualifications, 5 cases of nationality certifi- cates forgery, and 6 others.
