Moi Promises Impenetrable Security For Eid Holiday
Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) has beefed up precautionary measures across all government bodies to ensure foolproof security and seamless traffic during the holy Islamic festival of Eid Al-Adha.
The plan is a responsive and appropriate action to address an expected spike in traffic during the holidays, the ministry’s Deputy Director General for Public Relations Brigadier General Tawheed Al-Kandari said in a statement on Saturday.
He pointed out that emergency help is available around the clock and is just a quick phone call away at hotline 112, saying that travelers are guaranteed equal security at the airport as well. Al-Kandari urged drivers to abide by traffic rules to ensure their safety, going on to wish the Kuwaiti people and leadership a blissful Eid holiday.
Kuwait Municipality is on full alert to ensure orderly celebration of the forthcoming Eid Al-Adha. Faisal Al-Osaimi, the acting public relations supervisor, said in a statement on Saturday that the extraordinary state of alert coincided with the campaign, “communicate with us,” designed to remove illegal construction on state plots of land and billboards hung at public locations. Municipal teams will monitor and take measures against illegal actions on part of vendors and others who may make business on plots without permits, or abandon cars at public locations. Workers will bring down all Eid greeting placards and bar trade in sacrificial meat on streets.
They will also clean the mosques and roads. The personnel will inspect law abidance at restaurants, cafes and toy stores.
Meanwhile, the Customs General Department has taken the necessary steps to fully prepare for the Hajj season, Eid Al-Adha holiday and return of many people from vacation, reports Al-Rai daily. Speaking to the daily, Salmi Customs Supervisor Mater Al-Thufairi disclosed Director General of the department Jamal Al-Jillawi has given instructions to ease departure and arrival procedures for travelers during Hajj and Eid Al-Adha. He said the director general has stressed the need for the department, in cooperation with other security bodies, to intensify monitoring and inspection procedures to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers.
In the meantime, Saudi Health Ministry said Friday it did not detect any epidemic among pilgrims, and assured the health conditions of pilgrims were good. The ministry said in a statement to the press it provided vaccinations for for 1.647 million pilgrims so far, while hospitals in Makkah and Madinah were providing health care for them, citing execution of 187 Cardiac catheterization and 10 open heart surgeries up until yesterday.
They also conducted 1,280 kidney dialysis and 488 different types of surgeries, said the ministry. The health ministry was providing preventive services for pilgrims and following their conditions throughout the Hajj season.
