Moi Lays Down Comprehensive Security Plan For Eid Prayers

The ministries of Awqaf and Interior will meet soon to lay down a comprehensive security plan for the Eid Al-Adha prayers, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.

Sources disclosed the Interior Ministry will assign male and female security forces in 78 worship places, adding that five schools in each governorate will be allocated as Eid prayer venues.

Sources said the Imams and preachers will be instructed to be vigilant and refrain from talking about certain topics like violence, extremism, sedition and rumors especially those spread on social media.

Meanwhile, visitors at the main building of the Ministry of Health were surprised when electricity was cut off for more than one hour recently, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed the power disruption happened at 12:00 noon, indicating that technicians rushed to the location after receiving information on the power outage.

Sources added it took more than one hour for the technicians to fix the problem. Further more, Minister of Justice, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Fahad Al-Affasi has designated Director of Pilgrims Affairs Office Mohammad Nasser Al-Mutairi as Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Coordination and Foreign Relations, in addition to his current functions, reports Al-Rai daily.

The minister took this decision when the tenure of Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Development Affairs Waleed Al-Ammar as Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Coordination ended recently.

In another development, Ministry of Education Undersecretary Dr Haitham Al- Athari recently issued a decision concerning members of ministerial committees, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Athari ordered exclusion of one member each from the committee tasked to raise public awareness on obesity, and the committee in charge of evaluating the achievements of primary and kindergarten students; while a junior translator in Educational Research Department joined the Curricula Committee.
