Moi Launched A Campaign To Support And Aid Aleppo And Syrians In Need
Kuwait’s Ministry of Information announced Thursday the launch of a campaign to support and aid Aleppo and Syrians in need.
The ministry has launched a one-week plan on Wednesday to broadcast programs on aiding Aleppo on Kuwait TV, Assistant Undersecretary for Television Affairs Majeed Al-Jazzaf told KUNA.
There will be a two to four hours of programing daily, in cooperation with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) to collect donations for the matter he also added. On his part, Assistant Undersecretary for Radio Affairs Yousef Mustafa noted that the ministry will also use social media and cyberspace to promote for this campaign and encourage people to donate. Meanwhile, the concert revenues of Kuwaiti singer Nawal will go to the victims of the Aleppo massacre, the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC) announced in a statement Thursday.
The statement added that the initiative came in solidarity with the Syrian people who are suffering from awful crimes committed against them. According to the statement, Kuwait was among the first countries to strongly condemn the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria.
The concert was to be held later today. In the meantime, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khaled Al-Jarallah said Wednesday Kuwait is looking forward to seeing signs of political solution to the bloody conflict in Syria. “It’s unacceptable that the international community remains silent on the tragic and regrettable situation in Syria, particularly Aleppo city.
The brotherly people of Syria pay the price of the failure of the international community in reaching a political solution to the crisis,” he said. Al-Jarallah made the press remarks on the sidelines of a reception, hosted by the Embassy of Japan on the occasion of the country’s national day.
