Moi Has Been Taking Necessary Measures To Trace The Source Of A Video Clip That Went Viral On Social Media
Ministry of Interior has been taking necessary measures to trace the source of a video clip that went viral on social media recently in order to ascertain it belongs to the DAESH terrorist organization quoting a senior security source.
In the video clip, some members of the DAESH terrorist organization are seen threatening Kuwait with bombings, destruction and fabricated sectarian war among citizens, as well as terrorizing the country’s security.
The source said, “I assure all citizens and residents of the country that the security situation is solid. The security of the country is guarded by competent men from the army and the police”. He affirmed that such threats, even though they are taken into consideration, “will not frighten us or instill fear in us”. In other news, Ministry of Interior on Saturday has denied that its officers had stormed a mosque in the Sharq area and arrested an individual, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a press statement, the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media of Ministry of Interior said the reports circulating on social media on Friday about Special forces team storming a mosque in Sharq area and arresting a person are completely false.
The department explained that the concerned security forces visited the mosque after coordinating with officials responsible of the mosque to identify any observations and rectify them in line with the periodic review by the concerned security forces for places of worship and vital and important installations. The move is part of the precautionary measures aimed at ensuring the security of places of worship and the safety of its devotees. It is an inherent authority of the security establishment and an integral part of its duties.
The department said these security precautions are not limited to this mosque alone but they will be applied in all houses of worship and vital facilities in the country, affirming that the Undersecretary of the ministry Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Dosari visits such sites periodically and all security measures are subject to his full supervision. It added that the relevant security leaders also undertake similar visits within their authority.
The department urged citizens not to follow false news and rumors that cause confusion, affirming that any questions or queries are warmly welcomed, as the ministry is ready to respond.
Regarding the security measures and security check points, the department said they fall in line with the directive of the ministry to execute its role and duties in arresting fugitives and those wanted for justice and lawbreakers involved in criminal, civil or any other cases.
The department explained that these measures represented by security campaigns are not limited to specific areas but to all areas of Kuwait in all six governorates without any exception.
It affirmed that the ministry will continue its efforts in line of duty based on an integrated plan with the participation of all concerned field sectors. The department called on all citizens and residents to cooperate with the ministry for these security measures by carrying their civil ID cards and other such documents and complying with instructions.
