Moh Staffer Caught Selling Fake Kd 10 Stamps To Expats

13 June 2018 Crime News

An employee of the Ministry of Health who forged and sold revenue stamps to expatriates for 15 months has been apprehended by security operatives. The employee in question was in the habit of changing KD 1 inscribed on the stamp to KD 10.

He would then lock the electronic machines in the hospitals as if they were faulty, forcing expatriates to buy the fake stamps from him! In an official release, the Ministry of Health disclosed that arrest of the employee was made possible due to directives from the Minister of Health Dr Basel Al-Sabah, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior.

Statement added the minister ordered immediate arrest of the employee when he got wind of information that an employee hired on wages was forging KD 10 stamps, and allegedly used an accomplice to sell the stamps to expatriate patients.

He purportedly started the forgery activity in March 2017 after the increase in health fees was approved. An undercover agent was assigned to buy a forged stamp with marked currency. The suspect was careful on the first day but fell into the trap thereafter. He has since been referred to the concerned authority.
