The Ministry of Health (MoH) has submitted two reports against suspects of wasting public money with regards to two issues related to new hospital expansion projects, the first of which is a notice regarding the expansion of Al Farwaniyah Hospital. A former assistant agent requested the cancellation of (Tower B) and its cost exceeding KD17 million dinars in exchange for the company to add only one to the tower (A) without accounting for the financial differences as a consequence of this cancellation. Then the former assistant agent issued a change order for the company to cancel the tower (B) and grant the company an additional period of time beyond what was agreed upon in the contract without making a deduction for the financial differences and without obtaining the approval of the regulatory authorities.

The second report deals with the expansion of Al-Adan Hospital, the incident which happened in 2016, the company was awarded the contract to construct and equip the building at a value of approximately KD232 million, with the approved design idea of the project was a circular shape which was mentioned in the tender. However, the company did not construct the circular shape, and submitted a proposal to build the building in a rectangular shape. A former assistant agent and a former health district manager agreed with the rectangular shape without taking into account the financial differences resulting from the amendment, and without taking the approval of the regulatory authorities. Moreover, the assistant agent was caught for not investigating the alleged oversight. Then, after nearly twenty months awaiting the approval to modify the shape of the building without accounting for the differences in the funds from the ministry, the company requested an amount of KD47 million in return to restructure the building in the circular shape.
