Moh Plans To Terminate The Contracts Of 15 Expat Accountants And Other Employees

The Ministry of Health plans to terminate the contracts of 15 expatriate accountants and other employees for their alleged involvement in corruption and waste of public money, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The ministry has also issued a decision to terminate the contracts of four expatriates from various sectors, one of them a female employee. According to knowledgeable ministry sources Minister of Health Jamal Al-Harbi is currently re-screening vital suspicious sectors. He noted some of those who have been terminated were from technical sector and reportedly made about KD 120,000 in rewards and privileges in just one year.

The sources pointed out the next few days will see the dismissal of a number of others. The ministry has also demanded that those who have been dismissed are asked to bring ‘clearance’ certificates from banks, ministries of services, electricity and housing. Their residence will also be cancelled from the date of termination under the laws of the Ministry of Interior so that they will not be appointed in any government or private sector after termination of the contract.
