Moh Intends To Target Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses Etc For Fake Phd Certificates
Ministry of Health intends to launch an extensive investigation on the fake certificates, pointing out that the investigation will target several doctors, pharmacists, nurses, technicians, and employees who obtained PhD certificates while on their jobs, reports Al-Jarida daily.
They stressed the suspected employees had obtained fake certificates from different countries, including Pakistan, Philippines and Jordan. They noted coordination between the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Higher Education is aimed at identifying fake certificates.
They pointed to the utmost danger of obtaining fake certificates by those employed in medical sector, especially as they deal directly with humans and their ineptitude has adverse effect on the health of individuals.
Meanwhile, several MPs have stated the importance of put a stop to the issue of forgery by arresting all those involved. MP Saleh Ashour said the fate of those forging certificates is no different from those holding fake citizenship and others forging DNA and sports files.
For his part, MP Majid Al-Mutairi called on the government to find swift solution to the issue and dismiss whoever is involved in the purchase of fake certificates.
Also, MP Walid Al-Tabtabaei said the issue of fake certificates contributes to the spread of corruption, stressing he will not give up the fight against the menace. Meanwhile, security sources disclosed that the Criminal Investigation Department received information about a Ministry of Health employee who presented fake certificate four years ago, reports Al-Anba daily.
The same sources explained the employee was promoted to head of department and director with KD 300 salary increment, and while investigating his file, they discovered the certificate he presented was forged in Egypt. The employee later admitted forging the certificate in order to get promotion and higher salary through which he illegally received salary increase of KD 300 over a four-year period adding up to KD 13,000. He has since been referred to the Public Prosecution.
