Mof Okays Kd 33.4 Mln For Mpw On Account Of Change Orders
The Ministry of Finance has informed its counterpart the Ministry of Public Works on the approval of 33.4 million dinars for the change orders and the new asphalt mix requirements in the contracts of the engineering maintenance sector and the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport, in addition to 1.7 million dinars value of the change of the Sixth Ring auction is still under study, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to the correspondence, a copy of which has been received by the daily, Finance Ministry agreed to KD 24.8 million for the cost of change orders for maintenance engineering contracts at KD 14.6 million. The cost of extending 11 contracts for 6 months and KD 10.1 million is the cost of adding polymers to the asphalt mix for another 7 contracts.
At the level of the Roads Authority, the Finance Ministry has agreed to allocate 5.6 million dinars for the extension of maintenance contracts for highways for a period of 6 months, in addition to the adoption of 3 million dinars for the change orders for adding polymer material to the asphalt mix in 7 contracts.
The sources said that these amounts are not including the change order for the Sixth Ring contract under consideration in the regulatory bodies, which is in the range of 1.7 million dinars. Sources pointed out that these amounts were approved by the various regulatory authorities in preparation for the start of the plan to reasphalting early April as announced
