Moe Follow Up Of Fingerprint Attendance System On Teachers
Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at Ministry of Education Yousef Al- Najjar affirmed the follow up of enforcement of fingerprint attendance system on teachers by a joint committee with representatives of Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance and Civil Service Commission(CSC) based on directives from CSC, reports Al-Anba daily.
Al-Najjar revealed that KD 1 million was allocated for the enforcement of the fingerprint system, adding that the ministry will address the relevant monitoring bodies this month to float the relevant tender. Concerning the maintenance issue, he explained that the monitoring bodies refused to renew the maintenance contracts under the pretext that the maintenance tenders have been floated.
;There 12 maintenance contracts but only three of them have been signed. A total of 15 out of 114 companies had qualified to take part in the tender for running school canteens. However, Public Authority for Food and Nutrition had prepared a report in this regard, indicating that only one of these 15 companies is capable of carrying out the project, as the rest violate the safety and hygiene conditions.
The procedures of the tender have been suspended and the 14 other companies have been given a two-month grace period for removing the violations and modifying their situations in order to be ready for participating in the tender after obtaining the approval of the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.
Concerning the increase in the salaries of Bedoun teachers, Al-Najjar said he has not received any information in this regard. He lamented that Kuwaitization policy has negatively affected the financial sector of the ministry due to the lack of desire of Kuwaiti citizens to work as accountants, adding that a number of school administrations have been referred to the Public Prosecution due to submission of fake receipts concerning the budget of the schools’ funds.
