Moe Disclosed That 350 Expat Teachers Submitted Their Resignation In The 2nd Semester
Director of Human Resources Department in the Ministry of Education Saoud Al-Juwaiser disclosed that 350 expatriate teachers and legal accountants submitted their resignation in the second semester of academic year 2016/2017, and the figure is expected to increase in May 2017. Al-Juwaiser noted the majority of employees that resigned had signed their contracts in late 1990s or early 2000. He noted the rate of resignation this year is lower than the figure recorded last year, indicating 750 employees had resigned during the period.
Concerning the new terms of promotion in the Ministry of Education, Al-Juwaiser said the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved two work teams for each educational area to complete the necessary procedures, due to the large number of employees in the ministry. As regards the recent report saying some educational zones defy the decision of CSC on granting paid leaves to Bedoun teachers, Al-Juwaiser said he knows the story.
He has yet to receive any official letter in that context. He reiterated a meeting of legal affairs directors in the educational areas will take place to discuss whether or not the decision of CSC should be enforced. In another development the State of Kuwait said Tuesday that it is interested in partaking in meetings of senior Arab officials on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction (WMDs).
The remark was made by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Austria and its permanent delegate at the UN in Vienna Sadeq Marafito KUNA on the sidelines of the 41st meeting of the committee of senior Arab officials.
