Moci Has Banned The Import Of Fresh And Frozen Poultry
Ministry of Commerce and Industry has banned the import of fresh and frozen poultry and all types of poultry products and derivatives from Luxembourg except for eggs that have been thermally treated at 70 degrees Centigrade, reports Al-Rai daily.
Such a decision was taken after reports about the spread of the dangerous H5N8 viral infection in Luxembourg. The ministry also issued another decision No. 517/2017 to ban import of fresh and frozen beef and beef products from four Brazilian meat companies due to suspicions about whether their products are suitable for human consumption.
;According to the decision, trading companies that want to import beef products from Brazil have to provide Kuwait Municipality and the Food and Nutrition Department with a certificate to prove that the product is safe for human consumption. A certificate from the Brazilian authorities to declare that the manufacturing company is committed to quality standards must also be presented and which has to be authorized by the Kuwaiti Embassy in Brazil.
Ministry of Commerce and Industry has lifted the ban imposed on the import of all live poultry, incubation eggs and chicks from Austria and Czech Republic.
Such a decision was taken after confirmation that the abovementioned products do not contain H5N8 virus.
