Ministry Launches ‘consumer’ App To Prevent Manipulation Of Commodity Prices In Cooperatives

The Saudi Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman will visit Kuwait before the Gulf summit in Riyadh, which is scheduled to be held on December 14.

Al-Rai quoting diplomatic sources said HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman is expected to visit Kuwait next Thursday.Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development, Dr. Mishaan Al-Otaibi, announced the launch of the ‘Consumer’ application, to protect consumers from manipulation of commodity prices in cooperative societies.

Al-Qabas quoting ministry sources said, “The application allows consumers to compare prices and report any unjustified rise, to help the ministry take the necessary action.”

The head of the Consumer Protection Department, Mishaal Al-Manea said the application gives a price comparison of commodities for sale in cooperative societies, whereby the consumer can know the difference in prices and file a complaint by photographing the product and sending the picture to the Consumer Protection Society in case of any discrepancy.
