Mew Terminates Services Of 454 Expatriates Over Four Years
In compliance with the implementation of government decisions aimed at implementing the replacement policy and the rules and procedures for “Kuwaitization” of jobs, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Muhammad Al-Faris, said the services of 454 expatriate employees in the Ministry of Electricity have been terminated and they are replaced by citizens.
in response to a question by MP Faraj Al-Daihani, a copy of which has been obtained by Al-Seyassah, Al-Faris stressed the MEW is strictly committed to the instructions issued by the Civil Service Commission regarding “Kuwaitization.”
He explained the number of expatriates that have been laid off by MEW since the issuance of the decision in 2017 reached 454, and that Kuwaiti employees are appointed according to the needs of the ministry.
He pointed out that the total number of expatriates working in the ministry is 811 compared to 26,252 Kuwaitis.
