Mew Stressed The Keenness Of The Ministry To Achieve Rationalization Of Water Consumption

Undersecretary of Ministry of Electricity and Water Eng Mohammad Bushahri stressed the keenness of the ministry to achieve rationalization of water consumption and increase public awareness concerning this matter.

He revealed that Kuwait has the third highest rate of water consumption in the world, with per capita consumption of 450 gallons per day. He insisted that this issue requires legislations that can enforce penalties for excessive consumption of water.

Director General of Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) Faisal Al-Hasawi affirmed that wastewater treatment is one of the most important ways to deal with lack of consumable water in Kuwait, which is poor in water resources.

He stressed that the scarcity of drinking water constitute a threat to not only individuals but to all sectors particularly agricultural and industrial sectors.
