Mew Refers 35 Workers For Retirement
Minister of Electricity and Water Khaled Al-Fadhel has referred 35 employees, who have been in service for 35 years in the Ministry of Electricity, for retirement, reports Al- Rai daily quoting sources. On the other hand, sources disclosed the Ministry of Electricity and Water is currently coordinating with Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) regarding the appointment of one consultant for the second phase of ‘Shagaya’ project (Dabdabah) that was canceled, provided it is reoffered through the authority as well as the third stage (Al-Abraq) in order to reduce the cost instead of appointing one consultant for each stage.
Sources confirmed the Supreme Committee will discuss the second phase of the project in its next meeting to start preparing for the bidding procedures to pave way for the implementation of the two phases together; indicating that the second phase is expected to produce 1,500 megawatts, while the third phase is expected to produce 2,000 megawatts; hence, the total of the two phases is about 3,500 to 4,000 megawatts.
