Mew Employs 93.3% Of Kuwaitis In Power, Distillation Plants

Informed sources in the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy revealed the percentage of national employment reached 93.3% in the six electric power and water distillation stations. 

The ministry employs 5,640 Kuwaitis out of a total of 6,040 employees. The number of non-Kuwaiti employees is estimated to be 400.

The sources told Al-Seyassah daily the largest percentage of employees is concentrated in the Al-Zour South Station whose number is 1,503 , followed by West Doha Power Station with 1,367 employees, Al-Shuaiba Station with 1,033 , the Al-Subiya Station 927 employees, East Doha Station 849 employees and in the Shuwaikh power plant 361 employees. 

The sources added the total number of ministry employees during July was 25,689,000, including 24,698 Kuwaitis and 991 non-Kuwaitis. The sources affirmed the ministry’s keenness to replace national labor in all sectors, especially technical sectors such as the power stations sector.
