Mew Attends To 1,300 Rain-related Complaints Sunday Afternoon

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Water, Eng Khalifa Al-Freij, said the ministry received 1,300 complaints about malfunctions and problems resulting from rain, most of which were dealt with immediate, while the ministry’s teams continued to deal with the rest during the past hours.

Al-Freij said in a statement to ‘Al-Qabas’, that the ministry, since yesterday, has put in place its emergency plan and senior ministry officials were present in the operations room to follow up on the situation since the early hours of the morning, referring to the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity who followed up on the ministry’s workflow.

Al-Freij explained the minister stressed on the need to look into the customers’ complaints without any delay and also stressed on the need to ensure the stability of the network, dealing with developments in the matter first-hand, and restoring the power as soon as possible in the event of an interruption.

Al-Freij pointed out that the network situation is reassuring and stable and there are no problems compared to the downpour that the country witnessed, pointing out that all the main power stations (production stations) are operating normally and none of them have gone out of service.
