Meet Tackles T2 Operational Readiness And Compliance
In preparation for the completion of “Kuwait Airport Terminal 2”, the committee concerned with the requirements of the project held a meeting to discuss operational readiness alongside the verification of concerned authorities’ compliance with the work requirements, reports Al- Jarida daily.
The Supreme Committee for Technical and Operational Requirements of the new passenger terminal (T2) at Kuwait International Airport held its first discussion on Wednesday, chaired by the Director General of Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Supreme Committee Sheikh Salman Al- Hammoud, with membership of the concerned government agencies in a virtual meeting.
Al-Hammoud affirmed in a statement at the sideline of the meeting that the committee aims to speed up the completion of the new passenger building T2, which was one of the wishes of the late Amir His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God grant him rest) who laid the foundation stone for this vital project in April 2017. He said His Highness was keen on the speedy completion of the project, being the first civilized gateway for the state. He indicated: His Highness also played a prominent role in the speedy completion of the T4 passenger building, which achieved a monumental success in raising the capabilities of the air transport sector.
Ensure
“The committee shall ensure that all necessary requirements for the success of the operational readiness program are fulfilled and the concerned authorities fulfil the requirements for operation, in order to achieve the transition to a successful operation.”
Also, this is to ensure that all concerned parties achieve the technical and operational requirements to complete the approval process for the receipt of facilities and transfer from the entity responsible for construction and completion to the authority responsible for licensing and operation. The committee aims to ensure the completion of the process of assigning the operation of the new passenger terminal (T2) and management of Kuwait International Airport as an integrated model to a global airport operator and to work to ensure that all requirements are met for the new terminal operation program.
The Supreme Committee is also responsible for ensuring readiness of the terminal building (T2), while all technical requirements for the facilities and systems are met, in order to meet the needs of all future operations in making the building a smart airport. It includes interconnection of systems and networks to the new terminal building and all other Kuwait International Airport buildings for entities operating in the airport, according to the latest technologies adopted at airports.
