Medical Society Endorse Cupping Specialist Program

Head of Alternative Medicine Society Dr Zeben Al-Otaibi disclosed that the group has launched the certified cupping specialist program in Kuwait to organize training courses for applicants to boost their skill in doing the job as per scientific standards, reports Al-Rai daily.

He added those who pass the test at the end of the training course will be certified by the society, noting the first training course which started on Saturday Dec 7, 2019 has 20 participants, and half of them are women.

He pointed out that women trainees will be coached by female experts, and the course will cover the procedure of cupping and depth of cutting, which must not exceed the outsider layer of skin.

He explained that the first batch of graduates will not only be in Kuwait but the Gulf as a whole.

Cupping is classified as minor surgery that requires sterilization and accuracy in dealing with the capillaries. He added that alternative medicine law, which was approved by the society, includes 14 articles being discussed by the legislative committee in the Parliament after five MPs presented the bill to the National Assembly.
