Mechanism In Works To Allow Gcc Citizens To Enter Kuwait
The Kuwait International Airport (KIA) and the Ministry of Health are preparing a mechanism to allow Gulf citizens into the country, reports Al-Qabas daily. A well-informed source told the daily the health authorities and concerned agencies operating at the KIA meet periodically to develop a mechanism which the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can agree upon.
The sources explained proposals which have been submitted are still being considered and will be submitted to the Council of Ministers upon completion for final decision. The sources added the mechanism aims to unify health standards among the GCC countries, especially in light of clear differences in ‘entry’ requirements as well as in the approved vaccines according to each country. The source indicated the Ministry of Health is communicating with its counterparts in the GCC countries to unify standards, so that the Gulf citizen can travel and move comfortably between the Gulf countries. On the other hand, the source revealed that the mechanism for the return of residents to the country is linked to several controls.
