Measures For Airlines To Cancel Confirmed Passenger Bookings
The Director of the Air Transport Department, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, indicated that measures are being taken against airlines that cancel confirmed reservations for passengers, pointing out that “some airlines are still practicing reservations over the permitted number of passengers, which is a clear violation of the instructions of the General Administration of Civil Aviation and impedes travel to and from Kuwait International Airport
He said: “It was noticed recently that many airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport canceled confirmed passenger reservations to Kuwait and informed them that the reason was the lack of approval by the General Administration of Civil Aviation,” noting that “this matter is far from credible or professional by these airlines. The number of seats on planes has been determined for all airlines and they have received confirming the number of seats allowed on all planes, but some companies are still booking more than the allowed number, which is a clear violation of the instructions of the General Administration of Civil Aviation and hinders their travel to or from Kuwait International Airport
Accordingly, every passenger whose confirmed reservation has been canceled by the airline has the right to file a complaint with the General Administration of Civil Aviation (Complaints Division of the Air Transport Department) along with the required documents such as a travel ticket, payment receipt and passport photos to take the necessary action with the violating airline through the Complaints and Arbitration Committee.
