Martyrs Of The Imam Al-sadeq Mosque Cement National Unity

27 May 2018 Kuwait

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah recently disclosed that martyrs of the Imam Al-Sadeq Mosque consolidated the national harmony.

He added the third remembrance ceremony is a renewed symbol that increases the strength of national harmony to counter whosoever plans evil against Kuwait and its citizens. Sheikh Nasser made the disclosure last Thursday on the occasion of the third Remembrance Day for martyrs of Imam Al-Sadeq Mosque.

The event was held in the presence of the Minister of Justice, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Fahad Al-Afasi, and members of the National Assembly and the Municipal Council. He called for national harmony to be put above any differences in ideology, indicating the country will not allow the agents of darkness to hide among the people. “It is quite unfortunate that many of them still mingle with the people but society will not give them any chance to perpetrate catastrophe”, he said.

He went ahead to beseech Allah the Almighty to be merciful with the martyrs and accept them in Al- Jannah, and to grant their families fortitude to bear the colossal losses. In a speech, chairman of the board of trustees for Al-Imam Al-Ahqaqi Foundation Dr Saleh Al-Saffar repeated the famous statement of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah titled “Athoula Eyali” (Those are my children), which made leaders and peoples of the world stand firm with respect. He assured Kuwait will forever remain a single indivisible family “despite crises the country endures, noting Kuwait always rises above it all and continues to come out stronger and more united against the evil plans and attacks orchestrated by enemies against the lovely and peaceful nation”.

Representative of Martyrs Families Mohammad Al-Khawajah affirmed that Kuwaitis have succeeded in diffusing the terror conspiracy. He stressed that citizens were able to send a strong message by frustrating sectarianism and holding on to the values and traditions of the society under the able leadership of the ‘Amir of Humanity’.

On the ninth day of the Holy Month of Ramadan — June 26, 2015 — Kuwaitis were shocked by a cowardly terror attack against the Imam Al-Sadeq Mosque in Kuwait City, an incident that left 26 people dead and some 227 others injured.

After three years from the attack, the mosque was renovated upon directives from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who was amongst the first to rush to the scene of the attack after it occurred. With prayers resuming and people returning to the facility, the mosque stands defiantly against those who sought to create strife and disunity amongst the people of Kuwait.
