Manager Steals Cash; Family Held Hostage

Al-Jahra police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti who turned boisterous after consuming drugs inside his home in a suburb of Saad Al-Abdullah and threatened his family. According to security sources the man who was abnormal and armed with a knife, held his family hostage and threatened to stab the members if they approached him following a dispute in the family. When the family informed the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior police rushed to the spot but the man turned the heat on the police and threatened to stab them. However, he was overpowered, the knife was seized from his hands, handcuffed and he was taken to the area police station. Police also found with the man a quantity of ‘chemical’ drugs. He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.

Cash embezzled: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) are looking for an unidentified expatriate manager of a foodstuff company for allegedly embezzling 46,000 dinars, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, when the company discovered the loss of money, they tried in vain to contact the manager because he did not report for duty. However, all calls either went unanswered or found the cellphone switched off.
