Man Try To Hide Gold Under Wig Worth 30 Lakhs

Gold smuggling is one crime that keeps airport officials on their toes all across the world. Despite the fact that airports have far tougher security measures, those smuggling it finds numerous means and ways to get it over without being caught.

Customs authorities at Delhi Airport have detained a traveller arriving from Abu Dhabi after he was reportedly discovered smuggling gold worth Rs. 30 lakh. The gold was hidden behind his wig and in his rectum.

According to the Customs Commissioner's Office, he was apprehended in Terminal 3 of the IGI airport.

A detailed personal and luggage search of the passenger resulted in the recovery of three pouches wrapped in adhesive tape with a gross weight of 686 grams that were concealed behind his wig (one pouch) and within his rectum (two pouches), according to the statement from Delhi customs (two capsule-shaped pouches).

The authorities can be seen removing the gold from behind his wig in a video that has gone viral. After cutting off his hair, the heap of gold was put with great care directly on his head. The officials collected the gold and gently removed the wig.

Individuals on the internet were astounded to discover the lengths to which people will go to hide or smuggle narcotics.

Authorities recovered the gold, and the guy was taken into custody. There will be more inquiries.

This isn't the first time someone has been arrested attempting to smuggle gold. A tourist from Uttar Pradesh was apprehended at Kempegowda International Airport in December last year with two gold rods valued at Rs. 45.8 lakhs has hidden inside a manual juicer machine. The individual was smuggling gold rods from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

The Income Tax-Air Intelligence Unit apprehended the 33-year-old guy and found 930 grams of gold smelted into rods. The total value of the smuggling was Rs. 45, 81,180.

Another incident occurred last year when a guy was apprehended while attempting to smuggle nearly a kilograms of gold through Imphal Airport. Officials discovered that the man was concealing almost 900 grams of gold in the form of paste in his rectum. The gold seized was estimated to be worth Rs 42 lakhs.
